Leveling the Playing Field for Iowa Policyholders.
Insurance companies have lobbyists. Policyholders need champions. Together, we fight for fair insurance laws in Iowa.
The Iowa Association of Public Insurance Adjusters (IAPIA) was founded in 2025 in direct response to legislation introduced during that year’s session. Those proposals, many written with the insurance industry’s interests in mind, made it clear that Iowa policyholders needed a stronger voice at the Capitol.
Public adjusters, contractors, and consumer advocates came together to create IAPIA as a dedicated, Iowa-focused association committed to protecting the rights of policyholders.

Our mission is simple: to unite Iowa’s public adjusters and allied professionals to advance consumer protection, promote fair insurance laws, and ensure that policyholders have a fair chance in the claims process.
What We Do
Protecting Policyholders Through Action
At IAPIA, our work is focused on protecting Iowa policyholders and strengthening the role of public adjusters in the claims process.
We monitor legislation at the Capitol, draft and propose consumer protection reforms, and testify before lawmakers to ensure that the policyholder’s voice is heard.
Beyond advocacy, we bring public adjusters, contractors, and attorneys together to share resources and strategies, creating a stronger and more united front for Iowa consumers. By building partnerships with allied organizations across the country, we make sure Iowa families benefit from both local advocacy and national expertise.
